2 Your Health:New tests for Prostate Cancer

Doctors are often stumped when faced with a patient who has a high p-s-a score, an indicator of prostate cancer, but their biopsy comes back negative, but a new test may help them determine if that patient needs another biopsy.

The test, called Progensa, uses a urine sample to detect the presence of genes that are indicative of prostate cancer.

In a study of nearly five hundred men, researchers found the test could predict a negative biopsy ninety percent of the time.
