A Lichfield school is making a splash after work on new swimming pool facilities was completed.
A series of grants allowed Nether Stowe School to carry out the improvement programme.
As part of the scheme, a viewing area and new changing facilities for the disabled were added to the swimming pool, as well as a new reception area.
Headteacher Ruth Poppleton said, ?It is fantastic that Nether Stowe was able to take advantage of the grants on offer, to create this modern, welcoming and high standard PE facility.
?The pool is well used by our local community and it is with great pride that we have seen it opened.
?All over the country swimming pools are being closed to the public, so to be able to invest in improvement is very good news. This pool is an important community asset and learning to swim can save lives.?
The new facilities were officially opened by Lichfield District Council chairman David Leytham. He added: ?It is so important that young people have access to good quality PE facilities, so it was with great pleasure that I formally opened this improved facility.?
