Ferruginous Hawk? Pinoche, California
I came across this hawk while in Panoche Valley in California. It was a good distance off, and the heat shimmer was terrible through the scope (hence, the bad photos), but the all-white belly and rufous back make me wonder if this is a Ferruginous Hawk (vice a Red-tailed Hawk). I'm wondering what the experts here think. Tks much.
